Run or walk to help us provide recreation scholarships to low-income families who do not have the means to participate in recreation activities. This event is a USATF certified race winding through slightly hilly paths of Lisle Community Park lit gently by luminaria for safety.

All proceeds benefit the Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation Scholarship Fund & Lisle Teens with Character Program.


RACE REGISTRATION:

  • ALL REGISTRATION FEES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE
  • 1st 300 5K & Youth Run registrants are guaranteed a race shirt
  • Participants must register online, no in-person or mail-in registration will be offered
  • Every participant must sign a waiver at registration
  • While our intent is to have a physical race, the race officials maintain the right to cancel the event due to severe weather conditions. If the in-person race is cancelled, runners can still run the race virtually. You will still receive your race bag and shirt. No refunds will be given.

RACE BAG INCLUDES:

5K & Youth Run participants will receive the following with their registration:

  • *1st 300 5K & Youth Run registrants are guaranteed a race shirt!
  • **Race participants will receive a ticket redeemable for one (1) slice of pizza.
  • ***Race participants will receive a ticket redeemable for one (1) drink. Beer ONLY for participants 21 years of age & older.

GENERAL RACE GUIDELINES

  • Costumes are encouraged! You don't have to dress up in a costume to conquer the Scarecrow Scramble, but it definitely makes it more fun!
  • No pets allowed on course.
  • Strollers are only permitted if you are walking in the 5K. You will be placed at the end of the line.
  • To minimize the risk of injury, parents are responsible for watching their kids throughout event.
  • Race officials maintain the right to cancel the event for safety due to severe weather conditions.

TOT DASH

  • Tot Dash will start at 5:15pm on the Lisle High School football field
  • All runners will receive a ribbon when they cross the finish line
  • All runners will receive a pizza and drink ticket
  • No shirt or race bag for Tot Dash registrants

YOUTH RUN

  • Youth Run will start at 5:30pm
  • All runners will receive a ribbon when they cross the finish line
  • All runners will receive a pizza and drink ticket
  • Any child age 11 & under that has paid for a 5K registration may also participate in the Youth Run free of charge. Only one shirt will be given.
  • Race Bag pick up will take place Friday, October 4. You can pick up your race bag between 12:00-7:00pm at the Lisle Recreation Center, 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle. If you are unable to make it on Friday, you can pick-up your race bag on Saturday between 4:00-5:30pm at Lisle Senior High School.

5K RUN / WALK

  • 5K Run/Walk will start at 6:00pm
  • All runners will receive a pizza and drink ticket. Ages 21 & over will receive a beer ticket.
  • Top Male/Female Overall & Top Male/Female Masters 40+ will receive plaques. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Male/Female in each age group (9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) will receive a medal. Winners will be announced after the race.
  • Race Bag pick up will take place Friday, October 4. You can pick up your race bag between 12:00-7:00pm at the Lisle Recreation Center, 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle. If you are unable to make it on Friday, you can pick up your race bag on Saturday between 4:00-5:30pm at Lisle Senior High School.

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER

The Scarecrow Scramble is seeking volunteers on Saturday, October 5 between 2:00pm & 9:00pm. Volunteer for a couple hours or volunteer for the whole event. Volunteers will receive a shirt, food and drink ticket.

Interested? Please sign up by September 30. Fill out our volunteer form or contact Erica Wise at ewise@lisleparkdistrict.org. It is required that each volunteer has a signed waiver. Volunteers under age 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
