HOLIDAY LIGHT RECYCLING PROGRAM

Don't Throw Your Old Holiday Lights Away...RECYCLE THEM!
November 1, 2016 - Februrary 1, 2017

When you pull out your holiday lights this year and inevitably find those few broken strands, don't throw them away! Please recycyle only only the strands of lights by removing the lights from the plastic bag you brought them in before placing them in the recycling box.

The Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation holiday light recycling drive will run from November 1, 2016 - Februrary 1, 2017 at the Lisle Park District Recreation Center, Community Center, and Wheatstack – A Midwestern Eatery & Tap/River Bend Golf Club.

The donated holiday lights may be in any non-working condition, as the valuable wiring inside will be processed by the generous support of Elgin Recycling in the Chicagoland area. Elgin Recycling will donate the entire proceeds from processing the lights to the Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation. Since the program began during the 2011-2012 holiday season, over 3,765 pounds of processed materials have been recycled and all proceeds were donated to the Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation. The foundation uses donated funds to enrich the quality of lives in the greater Lisle community by providing scholarship funding for recreation programs and helping to advance the mission of the Lisle Park District.

In addition to helping Lisle Park District residents, all donations support the Lisle Park District's "Go Green" and "Earth Flag" initiatives, which strive to create environmental protection awareness and advocacy within the greater Lisle Community. The Lisle Park District "Go Green" initiative also collects used athletic shoes, old crayons and textiles for recycling.
